Yoga, then quiet
Guests can join the morning practice. It is free during a stay. Vegetarian lunch and dinner can be arranged. They are not included in the room rate.

On the river
The Rhine is at the door
The house stands in Leverkusen-Hitdorf, in NRW, between Cologne and Düsseldorf. Long walks start in the park beside the river. A ferry crosses to the nature reserve. Lakes are about ten minutes away by bicycle.

Rooms in the house
The rooms are individual. Some face the garden, some the river, and some are large enough for people travelling together. Tell us your dates and how many of you are coming. We will tell you what is free.
Art and music
A gallery, a studio, and instruments
Flow Fine Art has a gallery in the house. Guests can use the art studio. Fine art hangs through the rooms. A wooden piano from 1910 stands in the hall, with two further pianos in the house. Guitars and other instruments are there for guests.

Open Sky House runs the hotel
Open Sky House – Centre for Inner Transformation keeps the villa. On most weekends there is a seminar around meditation. On Wednesday at 20:00 there is the usual mantra chanting. On Friday at 20:00 there is a live satsang with John David.

Helping
Volunteering in the community
A shared room is possible for 90 € a week, in exchange for six hours of daily help in the house. Meals are included. Under 20 it is free. A single room is extra. The day is about six hours of karma yoga, with three vegetarian meals, morning yoga, and meditation. Bicycles are in the house.
A wonderful chance to share more of the community life and the open-hearted energy in the house.

Open Sky Oasis in Dénia
Our yoga and meditation oasis on the Costa Blanca in Spain
The same community keeps a villa in Dénia, between Valencia and Alicante. A tropical palm garden and a pool sit about a three-minute walk from the Mediterranean. Rooms and a yurt are there for retreats, for guests, and for volunteering.

Common questions about our yoga hotel on the Rhine
Are yoga and meditation included?
Yes. Morning yoga and the silent meditations are free for overnight guests. The day begins at 7:30 with half an hour of guided group yoga, silent meditation follows from 8:00 to 8:30, and there is another sitting at 13:30. No extra retreat booking is needed. You are welcome with little experience, and you join at your own pace.
Do I have to join the programme?
No. You are welcome whether you meditate or are simply looking for a quiet house on the Rhine. There is no obligation to join yoga, meditation, or community life. The house is connected with Open Sky House, a spiritual community. As a hotel guest you decide how much of that you take part in.
Are there seminars and retreats?
On most weekends Open Sky House holds a seminar around meditation. Joining is arranged separately from the room. On Wednesday at 20:00 there is the usual mantra chanting, and on Friday at 20:00 a live satsang with John David. The next dates in Germany are listed above. The same community keeps Open Sky Oasis in Dénia. That is a different place, with its own days.
Are meals included?
Vegetarian lunch and dinner can be added. They are not part of the room rate. Shared dinner at 19:00 is by arrangement. Tell us before you arrive which meals you would like, and whether you have particular dietary needs.
Where is the house?
The house is in Leverkusen-Hitdorf, Rheinstraße 54, 51371 Leverkusen, directly on the Rhine between Cologne and Düsseldorf. By car the two cities are about 25 minutes away, depending on traffic. Long walks start in the park beside the river. A ferry crosses to the nature reserve. Lakes are about ten minutes away by bicycle. The garden and the courtyard are in the house.
Can I come alone, or help in the house?
Yes, a room can be booked for one person. Helping is a different stay, not a normal hotel booking. A shared room is 90 € a week in exchange for six hours of daily help. Meals are included.
